Argos workers at the companys centre in Magna Park, Lutterworth, took part in a 24 hour strike today, Friday 4 July as part of national action at Argos distribution centres.
The strike was over attacks on terms and conditions including the introduction of 24/7 shift patterns which would cause huge disruption to the workers family lives.
Bosses wanted to ram through 12 changes to the workers contracts and gave them just 90 days to sign.
One picket said “Hardly any union members have gone into work today – this strike has caused a major problem for Argos though they would never admit it”.
There was overwhelming support for the strike action.
The pickets were also keen to sign the Stand Up to UKIP launch statement – particularly because one of the few union members who scabbed today was local UKIP candidate for Warwickshire, John Birch.
