“We are committed to fight for peace, equality, justice and socialism in Leicester. Join us”
Unions are gearing up for a mass march at the Tory party conference in Manchester next month.
The TUC is backing the protest, to defend the NHS, on 29 September.
This gives the green light to activists in every union to organise transport and build for it.
In the north east of England Newcastle Unison has already booked four coaches and Gateshead Unison two coaches.
There is also a local People’s Assembly coach and Unison has a coach organised in Teesside.
In Durham the trades council and Peoples Assembly have booked a coach, as has the Unite union in Hartlepool.
Union activists have organised a meeting to coordinate transport.
The PCS union has organised transport from the Black Country and the north west of England.
Health campaigns including the Save Lewisham Hospital campaign and Sheffield Save Our NHS are sending coaches.
And Unison members in Scotland confirmed that they will join the protest.
Unite, Unison and PCS are all putting on coaches from Leicester to the demonstration.
